The Power of Faith in the Life of a Practitioner

November 20, 2018

Having just completed the first ten weeks assisting with teaching our newest group of Practitioner students, I've take some time to revisit my own training.  This is a paper I wrote near the end of my second year. I've updated it just a bit because nothing is every really the same twice.

“Faith is a mental attitude, so inwardly embodied that the mind can no longer deny it.”

                                                ~ The Science of Mind

Faith is part of my Spiritual Trifecta.  The three parts are Intuition, Faith & Truth.  I listen to Intuition, I live a life of Faith and I know Truth.  Faith is a big part of all facets of my life. I took a great leap of Faith right into my first year of studies for licensing.

Remembering my past difficulties with public speaking or sharing or even being comfortable trusting others, it was a faith in the process and a faith in the unfoldment of purpose that makes it all doable.  I learned, and know now, with all the fiber of my being that Spirit Is present in every event and I am the catalyst for all of the good that surrounds me.  This is Faith and I know it well.

“When prayer removes distrust and doubt and enters the field of mental certainty, it becomes faith; and the universe is built on faith.” ~ Ernest Holmes, Living Without Fear

Yes! Agreed!  When prayer removes distrust and doubt and I, or my client, reach a point of clarity, which is the birth of a greater presence of faith.  When shedding limiting beliefs and knowing the good that is Divine is present, there is a gaining or acceleration of faith.  As I have worked through affirmative prayer, after affirmative prayer, after affirmative prayer I’ve felt my own shifts in consciousness.  Newer (or ancient) understandings of what is and where and how I fit perfectly into my tiny place in the Universe has led me to a greater depth of faith and a greater understanding of what it is to live a life built on a foundation of faith.

"It is not God's Mind that needs to be changed, but ours. God is to be looked upon as Love, impartial and universal; He answers all who pray with real faith, not in God alone but faith in the answer as well."

~ Ernest Holmes

God is Love, baby, impartial and universal! Woohoo!

Easy, right? Well, maybe most of the time.  I still have some teensy-weensy brief moments of doubt.  Sometimes they show up as random thoughts of doom and gloom and other times they are loud and obnoxious.  Throughout the past two years (and the two I've been licensed) I’ve truly worked to move to faith first and never let the doubt even peek through.

In 2016 we moved into a new house very close to my old one.  When driving home the old house was a right turn and the new one a left. I found myself on autopilot and would turn right almost every evening!  Such an example of how things (thoughts) happen out of habit.  After just a few weeks, I would sometimes catch myself but no longer take the wrong turn.  Now, two and a half years later, I still know where it is but I never go there. This is much like making faith a new habit.   The old way is still there but the new way takes me home!

“I live in the faith that there is a Presence and Power greater than I am that nurtures and supports me in ways I could not even imagine. I know that this Presence is All knowing and All Power and is Always right where I am.” ~ Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind

This is the basis of all that I am.  I am this Presence and Power and the ‘greater than I am’ part is the belief that my consciousness can move upward infinitely.  Knowing and believing is the crème de la crème, the best of the best and the most magnificent part there is.  How could it get any better than knowing that God is right where I am all of the time? IT CAN’T!

As a Practitioner I help clients to reach a new level of faith. I believe that all that I have mentioned above is true for everyone. Through affirmative prayer and spiritual practice I am a vessel allowing the Divine Word to enter into their lives and remind them of the Oneness that they are with God.  Through my faith, they are given the opportunity to grow their own.

When reviewing one of my previous papers, Intuition and Spiritual Principle, I came across a statement that I made… “I will apply Trust, Intuition and Spiritual Principle in both my life and service by understanding and utilizing Intuition and spiritual practice to reveal the Truth.”

Time to change that up a bit.  Here it is now, new and improved…

"I apply Trust, Intuition and Spiritual Principle along with the power of Faith, in both my life and service by understanding and utilizing Intuition and spiritual practice to reveal Truth." ~ Kelli Marshall, RScP
